I am happy to confirm that authentic social sharing truly works.Facebook is officially rewarding brands that share content with other brands via Facebook Pages. In other words, you can @ tag Facebook Business Pages that share common interest and relevant content to your content. This tagging allows you to be seen by followers of those Facebook Business Pages you tagged.
I don't recommend tagging competitor pages just yet, but I do recommend tagging Facebook Pages that consumers can purchase items from both those brands and your brand.
Just this week I have started Micro Blogging in addition to a weekly blog for Mid Atlantic Deck and Fence. So far the Micro Blogging is demonstrating tremendous value. Just one post a day haas bought 200+ views from 1 Facebook status. I think that's amazing. I also do a great deal of Micro blogging related to Da Mimmo Restaurant located in Baltimore's Little Italy. I absolutely love "Throw Back Thursday" on Facebook. It's a great day to get a share by spotlighting photo flashbacks.
In fact, I believe in the near future Social Micro Blogging will be more valuable than extended blog posts. People don't have time to read long posts. They want to get to the point. They want to find something valuable and interesting. That's what keeps them coming back for more. And more importantly, they want to be proud to share your products and services. You will want them to see your brand as an extension of their personality, their lifestyle.
If you keep it simple, while offering great value...you cannot go wrong.
You can keep up with Social Media trends by following Fromgirltogirl on Facebook and subscribing to the blog.
